NaNoWriMo 2008, T minus 5: Meetings

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Didn’t get the Deathwing Terminators finished.  :(

Did get housework done, some work on The Fracture and a few key upgrades to the site.  :)

So an overall success.

Got a meeting with fellow NaNoers tonight.  A pre-NaNo meet.  I’m quite excited.

And I bought the wife flowers today because of a top class image she’s done for the site (which isn’t up yet).

NaNoWriMo 2008, T minus 6: Names and Places

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Six days left until NaNoWriMo.

I’ll share a bit of info on what this years NaNo will be.

Title: Planet of Snakes

Plot: Searching for info about his lost loved ones our intrepid crew visit a planet off the beaten track and find more then they bargain for:  Treachery, Loss and Giant Snakes!

Heh.  Giant snakes.  What the hell is going on here…  :)

So today I’ll not be working on NaNoWriMo plotting much at all.  There are a number of things I was to get cleared away before next Saturday arrives, as I may have mentioned in yesterday’s post.

I’ll be painting my two remaining Deathwing Terminators and once they’re out the way I can clear my desk of painting and miniatures, and hopefully keep it clear until December arrives.

After that, housework beckons and I’ll be working on the Fracture story I started ages ago.  There’s some work on the website required before the 1st, I don’t want to be thinking about any of it during November.

So a busy day ahead of me.  I’ll check in later to say how wisely I’ve spent my time.

Testing a new Firefox plugin - ScribeFire

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Bear with me on this one. Got a new plugin for Firefox called ScribeFire that allows me to blog directly without having to jump through the usual hoops…

So, pending a sucessful test, this should be on the site within seconds… :)

Hello Cthulhu

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Hello Cthulhu.

It is both helplessly cute and infinitely terrifying at the same time.

LibraryThing

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

A cool site I found recently is LibraryThing.

Similar to LastFM where (amongst other things) a plugin to your favourite media player catalogues what you listen to and makes recommendations based on that, LibraryThing is a place where you catalogue what you’re reading and the site recommends similar works.

That is all.

Wordpress? Could it be?

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Why, yes it could.

I’ve migrated all the posts over from Blosxom. Unfortunatly the comments couldn’t come too.

Oh, well. Them’s the breaks.

So with the bright and shiny new Wordpress install, you’re going to see loads of garish themes being used untill I get the design looking the way it did before.

And the reason why I moved from Blosxom to Wordpress?

Easier to maintain. And dealing with the comments and spam will be easier. You have no idea how much of a hell it was in Blosxom…

Dirty Hacking Bstards

Friday, July 21st, 2006

More hacking attempts on Desert of Zin and JediMoose.

This time it was a fault with our mutual hosts Webhosting which caused (seemingly) all of the index pages of their sites to be replaced.

Not very nice.

It’s easy enough to replace the Blosxom index script for Desert of Zin, but not so easy for the ‘Moose and her subdomains.

I’ve contacted the support at Webhosting and hopefully they should be able to restore it all.

Bad men on the net

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

Who have (last night) hacked the crap out of my other website, JediMoose. mrBen, erstwhile chum and co-blogger on the site, was the first to discover the problem and is at this very moment attempting to sort out the problem.

Details are sketchy right now but it looks like someone has been faffing about with some of the php files on the Wordpress installations (amongst other things) on the main site and our subdomains.

General design warning

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

I’m faffing around with the design so it may look truly awful if you happen upon the site at the wrong time.

Or you might feel that the usual design leaves a lot to be desired.

It’s a good job that I don’t do this for you then… ;)
